Manchester, one of the UK’s largest metropolitan areas is home to over 2.6 million inhabitants, carries the flag as the ‘capital of the north’, embracing change like few other cities in Europe. The city where capitalism was born certainly understands how to challenge the ‘norm’ and bring change through.

The modern metropolis of Manchester, which has openly embraced the 21st century, was largely inspired by the musical revolution which had preceded it, producing globally recognised bands such as Oasis, The Stone Roses, New Order, The Verve and the Bee Gees.

It is this diverse understanding and acceptance to change which makes Manchester such a unique place, and that is why AsianD8 looked to venture further up the M6 from Birmingham to introduce our services further afield. Manchester has a large Asian population, higher than the national average in fact, with the majority of these people being from a Muslim background, and we were certainly not surprised when we became inundated with requests for our Muslim singles events. Muslim speed dating began as our first set of events, but we didn’t fail to recognise the demand for events from the rest of the South Asian dating community, and we followed these events up with our Hindu speed date events, Sikh dating events, and finally our over 30’s speed date events for all three religious groups.

One of Manchester’s most endearing features is its people, and that in essence is what makes this such a wonderful place to date. Trendy bars, chic night spots, and fine eateries pack this city with exciting places to spend time getting to know someone, with the intimate surroundings of the Manchester opera house on the West End, to the Lowry Centre in the North. In addition, Manchester posses one of Europe’s hottest shopping venues, the Trafford centre. Situated slightly outside the city of Manchester city centre, this shopping arena provides shoppers with the most up-to-date look and trends making these people some of the best dressed in Europe!

Finally, and not at all least, Manchester is synonymous globally with the word ‘Football’, as two of the largest football brands; Manchester United and Manchester City both ply their trades here. Both clubs have certainly for their own reasons help re-establish Manchester as one of the top places to be in the 21st century.
